The latest iPhone 5 rumors are strong indications of October iPhone 5
There has been an increased amount of iPhone 5 rumors these last couple weeks, they started off with release date being July/June and ended with September/October dates. The latest news is focusing on a October release date for many reasons, but the biggest is that the iPhone 4S is doing so well they do not want to loose any profits by selling the iPhone 5 too soon. This theory also helps Apple in many ways, including there normal 12 month cycle that they like to try to stay on. With almost all the Apple products they are separated with a 12 month selling period where apple will not release any products that would compete with the current. This has been true with all the iPhone thus far, and even more the iPhone 4S was pushed longer then that as they tried to fix the LTE issues. Every iPhone besides the iPhone 4S has been launched in June/July and its believed that LTE caused the setback and the October launch for the iPhone 4S.
Biggest upgrade to the iPhone 5 - Its Display
The iPhone 5 is going to have both a larger and better display, and we have to thank Apple and Sharps for this partnership. This great partnership is great news for the iPhone 5 display with technology from both companies they can now reach 330 dpi/ppi. This display would be better than the iPhone 4S, Apples current best display with 226 dpi/ppi. This technology also eliminates the need for in plane switching technology which ultimately reduces the power and has less impact on the battery.
The iPhone 5 is now going to have a 4" display which has will be something completely new to the iPhone. The iPhones display thus far had never consisted of a 3.5" screen which Steve Jobs was very firm on. He though that an increased in display would alter its one hand use. This would also keep the iPhone 5 separate from other leading Android devices with little larger displays.
Apple also believe in having a device which can last a full 8 hour day, the screen and its size have major impacts on battery life and overall usage. If Apple does choose a 4" display they will have to find a battery that suites its strain.
